Jodi Collins’ resume includes those of an executive, an entrepreneur, tastemaker, nurturer, and an independent business owner.

Early on Jodi Collins began in charity, volunteer and animal work. She cared for and worked with horses during the summers and on the horse show circuit. This stirred a tremendous love and curiosity about the deep connection between animals and people.  She also did work with children afflicted withDowns Syndrome; this inspired her and evolved a knowledge and interest in human behavior and the human condition. This acute awareness continued as she was privy to professional programs surrounding foster child placement pioneered by her mother. Her entrepreneurial spirit was born and further developed by her father who was president and business owner of a men’s fashion company.

She graduated NYU from the Tisch BFA program with a minor in Public Communications where her inherent and developed skill sets were also well founded in her early jobs as:

Junior Account Executive for Robert Landau Associates — advertising/marketing/direct promotions company
Corporate clients: American Express & Lorillard.
Built & actualized events and promotions. Researched & maintained library of exciting materials and resources for ongoing daily use.

Executive Division Head for Casablanca II
Created department & expanded division sales.
Pioneered & identified fashion styles for the large size customer not targeted or attended to until then. Garnered a high profile attention & a strong position for this new line in major NYC department stores. Executive Sales group member for Fortune 500 company, Murjani Intl. in large sizes.
Sales and supervision of the west coast and part of the east coast major accounts. Also lectured sales teams in California major stores.

Performer in legit work inclusive of union musical comedy national tours, TV & Film. Supplemental work was in commercial production in wardrobe, in talent scouting, and bookings for live celebrity comedy talent agency.  Range of accounts included HBO, Rossetti Films, J Walter Thompson, etc.

And then, finally…

As a Casting Assistant then Casting Director for top film/TV casting office of Marcia Shulman, current VP of Casting, Fox Broadcast TV and for the commercial company of Liz Lewis Casting Partners.  Here she built talent
and agent relationships, auditioned/directed top level actors in support of each production, edited select tapes, facilitated production and actors with character development and facilitated script development as an
arm’s length dramaturge.

Jodi Collins was led into a next phase of her professional life with a further developed arsenal integrating all of her skills, organic and trained, where:

She has continued and built her own 12 year old casting company; an eclectic mix of outreach and productions with an emphasis on come

She has continued to “pay it forward” in the screenplay reading series she created and produces entitled Creative Control, where new developing voices deserving of an industry forum are unearthed and presented. Two of the screenplays are in pre and in post production while others are still developing.  We are also attempting an arm for inner city kids’ voices for new screenplays as well as a TV pilot reading series.

She continues to develop passion projects, and is represented by NS Bienstock for these. She is currently creating a global show, Project Aku in support of work in Africa, and an animal show being developed for Animal Planet, continuing her love of dogs. This further explores the most realized & beneficial human/animal condition of codependence.

She continues to scout and refer talent to the industry reps who continue to then be developed into mainstream TV shows and industry players.

She continues her teaching work with assorted performers in branding and in comedy at UCB, New York University, The New School, One on One Productions, Improv Olympics, Chicago, etc.

In her personal life Jodi is very involved with the dog world where her home includes her 2 Cocker Spaniel boys.

She is also in the process of involving herself with Autistic children and animal support and becoming certified in that world.
